Baggy passes the first hurdle - eating on her own!

I decided I'd try giving Baggy ID for a change of taste. My chicken stew may not be tasty enough to rekindle her taste buds.

When Baggy heard me opening the can, she meowed....now, that's a good reaction, I thought.

So I dished a bit out with my finger and let her smell it.

Not interested.

Force-fed that bit....

Hmm...nice?

Nice!

And she licked the rest off my finger!

And more....

Had started by handfeeding her, but she must have been very hungry because she wanted to eat straight from the can!

I didn't want to stop her as this was a MOMENT I had been waiting for, so I let her continue.
Just so glad to see her appetite returning.

Clavomox (the antibiotic) must be doing its job very well, fighting the infection in the gut.

Tabs is keeping her company or Tabs wants to share the food?

I had to remove the can as she should not eat too much at a go. Don't want to trigger another bout of vomiting and diarrhoea. Slowly does it...

 But I'm hungry!!

You have to wait another two hours, Baggy.

Do not fear, Tabs is here. Tabs will ensure you get your food in two hours.

Tabs will stay with you until you get your food, and maybe Tabs gets some too?

 Good old reliable Uncle Bobs!

Now, the next hurdle for Baggy is to see well-formed stools and no more diarrhoea....

Thank you, everyone, for all your good wishes for Baggy!

Good news! :) Baggy is looking good (as long as a cat is not sleeping whole day & refuses food and water is a good sign)

Just to share, I never dare to feed my pets straight from the can. I'm afraid their tongue might accidentally lick the sides/rim of the can which is sharp. I pour it out onto their dish bowl. I got my finger cut once when I was a kid, I guess that phobia stays in me and I know it is sharp. :-/

I agree with Yen Ling... sharp edges...

Yes, I don't normally feed off the can, but it was a case of "you can't afford to move off to get a bowl" because she wanted to eat, and the slightest movement might change the whole scenario. Having not eaten for two days, I wouldn't want her to miss this moment for anything. BTW, the next feed was from a bowl, at 2.00pm. She refused to eat again.

Try adding Fish Oil or get those can food with gravy. Tenten loves Tuna Flake with Gravy by Sheba.

Thanks. Was advised no oil for now because of the diarrhoea.

Baggy looks more alert now. Hope she'll be back to her usual self in no time.
By the way, Tabs looks chubbier than Baggy (sorry Tabs).

Dr Chan, may I suggest to try give Baggy steamed fish? My mum's cat at kampung loves to eat steamed fish..
If Baggy doesn't want it, Tabs will be around :)

Ok! Thanks for the suggestion. Tabs just ate up Bobby's chicken stew with oats! She is an eating-machine.
