Heidi's mange is completely healed

All it took was daily application of Johnson's Baby Oil.

Heidi went around with her spiky hair for about 2 weeks and the mange is all gone now!

I used this for Raven's mange too, and she healed as well. But Raven had a dose of Revolution Spot-On (that's before I found out about Johnson's Baby Oil).

For me personally, if there is an alternative method which isn't as toxic as drugs, I would be game to try.

Hi Dr Chan, if a cat has mange, is it necessary to go to the vet for a jab? One of the cats I'm caring for, Goldie, has mange and I took him to the vet. The vet said he needed to be given a jab every week for three weeks. I only managed to take him for 2 jabs because after that he would run away from me whenever he sees me (he's an outside cat). The vet also gave me cream to put on the affected areas but after the first week, I found it very hard to put the cream on him because he keeps running away (I think he was traumatised by the visits to the vet). Last week, I noticed that he still has mange at the back of his ears. If I can catch him, would you recommend I try baby oil? How bad was Heidi's mange? For Goldie, as far as I can see, he only has it behind his ears.

Dear Aznita, it is always better to seek a vet's advice on this so that you can make an informed decision. It was my personal decision to try Baby Oil on Raven and Heidi. Heidi's wasn't that bad (just starting) but Raven's was very bad. Please consult the vet for proper advice. Hope this helps
