Peanut's updates

Last night was my turn to have diarrhoea.  I wish I could sleep in, but I know there are quite a number of readers who are very concerned about Peanut and Butter, so I'm here to give you a quick update.

Peanut did not eat his 11pm meal last night, so I thought perhaps he wanted to fast himself to heal.

This morning, he was still active.  I fed him pumpkin + AD and he ate it all up.  He even asked for more, but I had to refrain from giving him extra.  After that, he passed out pasty stools.  The symptoms are exactly the same as Butter's.

Otherwise, he is active and still playing happily with Butter.

Here's a photo just taken:

Butter seems to have recovered as his stools are firm and nice.

I hope Peanut, being the bigger and stronger one, will recover quickly.  Then, I hope the bug will leave my household for good.

I have experienced cases where seemingly weaker-looking kittens somehow survive but the more active, healthy kittens die. We never can tell, because immune systems can plunge suddenly due to many, many factors, so I make sure I give the stronger, healthier kittens the same amount of support and care. The healthier kittens manage to resist longer before succumbing and showing symptoms, but they can also die very quickly in the end. Very sad.

Be careful what you say because I do not think it is the same bug affecting the kittens and you. This misleading piece of information has the dangerous potential to give many more ignorant people to quote you and run out to dump their sick cats and kittens the first moment sickness strikes the animals.

We already have enough ignorant excuses for the irresponsible dumpings of animals everywhere, cats as well as dogs. Many use such lousy excuses like "I am pregnant and do not want my pregnancy endangered in any way" or "just got married and planning to get pregnant and my in-laws do not like the dirty cats carrying all sorts of diseases".

More likely, your body is succumbing to all the accumulated stress and your immune and digestive system is taking its toll.

Get well, and take care, the helpless and voiceless animals need your help real, real bad and you need to be healthy and fit to provide for protection and support for them.

Oh, my word. I hope you like pumpkin! Seriously, do take care and get well soon. It does sound like you're exhausting yourself.

One question: where did you find the Probiotics?

It's really gratifying to see some alternatives to antibiotics, which I fear are over-prescribed and as a consequence are losing effectiveness... :-(

Hi Kah Yein,

Hope you counter your 'little bug' in your stomach and is feeling on top of the world....

Dear Anon, Point taken. Thank you very much.

Dear Maneki, I use GI Flora Probiotics. The pharmacist says it's one of the best on the market.
