Timmy's Merry-Go-Round!

Every morning and at all meal times, Timmy plays Merry-Go-Round in the patio.

It will start off this way where everyone has a bowl, yes, including our guest, Mr G!

 Quickly, feed Willy-O!

He is usually either at the culvert outside or already under the car, so it doesn't take long for him to come to the bowl.

Within minutes, Timmy would have finished his bowl so here's where his Merry-G0-Round rides start.

Today, he has picked on a difficult victim - Vincent Starr.

Er, Timmy, are you sure you want to taunt Vincent?

Vincent is not exactly very happy, but Timmy perseveres.

Timmy's philosophy is quite simple: Just keep looking in a friendly manner, you'll get it eventually. No need for any aggression or staring-down. No, no, we are a peaceful people. Note: Mr G is doing it to Daffodil too, but it's more "polite" and covert.

Vincent appears to be moving off. Daffodil too?

But not without showing his utmost displeasure first.

We are polite people; we don't fight or argue, we merely show our displeasure and disgruntlement.

Mr G: I'm not asking, I'm just looking.

Patience comes to those who wait.

Timmy wins!

This is what Timmy does every meal time. He goes round, asking for food the moment he finishes his bowl. And even at the start of every meal, he goes around all the bowls as each bowl is filled. Everyone gives way to him and moves in a Merry-G0-Round fashion. Timmy comes, I move off, and everyone moves accordingly until an "equilibrium" is reached. By then, Timmy would have eaten a bit from every bowl. It's fun watching it!

Rosie and Vincent are on their way out...oh oh!

Stop, Rosie, stop! Please let Willy finish his meal first.

It is not easy to stop Rosie, and harder still to stop Vincent.

And in any case, silly me, how can you stop a cat from doing what it wants?

Oh oh, poor Willy has fled.

Willy...!

Even putting the bowl under the car doesn't help.

Willy isn't taking the risk of coming back though he tries, by walking a few steps towards the gate.

 Willy, come, Willy-O!

Willy can't come back. Rosie and Vincent are both on guard.

 Now, Ginger is coming.

But Ginger is the sweetest of the Patio Family. He won't attack or wrestle food from anyone.

Good boy, Gin Gin.

An Happy-O-Timmy is also quite harmless except for "hungry-ness"!

But he doesn't use aggression to get food, he just asks....persistently.

Daffodil and Mr G polishes up everyone else's bowls.

Every day, the food bowls are polished clean because Timmy will do the final clean-up!

Timmy the Tummy!

And Gin Gin, still hoping to make friends with Bunny and Friends.

A lovely story for the weekend

My son, Jia-Wen, has to go through a base check every six months, as all pilots do. Yesterday was his base check and the instructor was a Brazilian captain. He is here with his wife, children and his dog.

They got talking and the Brazilian captain, Capt Cesar, said whenever he travels back to Brazil with his family to visit his home, he brings his dog along. He said it matter-of-factly, in that there is no other way, "How could you possibly leave your dog behind?" - that is beyond his comprehension to leave his dog behind. Kudos to Capt Cesar!

And here's how he does it: KLM (the Royal Dutch Airlines) allows pets on board, in the cabin, not as freight. So, even though Capt Cesar can take a cheaper and much shorter flight from Malaysia to Brazil, he doesn't. Because the cheaper flights by other airlines do not allow pets on board in the cabin. So, he'd rather pay more and travel a longer itinerary just so that his dog can go along.

Hooray to Capt Cesar! And hooray to KLM!

No pet-boarding for his dog when he travels with his family, his dog IS family and his dog goes along whenever the whole family travels.

Now, doesn't this just cheer you up for the weekend?

 See you up there, folks!!

Oh no, there is a COW in the CONDO!!

This is a very rare sight, folks!

Keep this photo, it might be worth something in the years to come.

Seldom do you get to see Cow inside the Condo, you know...

That's it?

Well, yes, that's it. What did you think I was going to post?

LOL!!

Of geographical and political boundaries, feline-style

When my husband is at work, the patio cats come into the house.

Here's Rosie enjoying the basket. No, three baskets, actually!

Timmy the Tummy!

Ginger hangs out at the dining room.

One night Rosie was out in the porch.

May I come in please?

And I'm asking for my mum too, please?

 Happiness is...rolling on the floor!
(After a good meal, of course!)

Sometimes the Royal Guards take a break.

It's actually good for them, you know. Guard duty can be so stressful!

Tiger, the Mandela of the clan, does want to make friends, really.

Hey Timmy, you sure are happy, aren't you?

But sometimes Tiger gets it real bad from the Cow Family.

Poor Tiger, he is fourth in line, actually, and is only a few months younger than Cow, Bunny and Pole. The three "early settlers" came on 7th May 2006 (Hey, Happy Birthday, Cow, Bunny and Pole!) and Tiger came in September 2006. That makes him about 4 months younger because when Tiger came, he was about 2-3 weeks old.

And ever since Tiger came, Cow & Bunny have been using him as a punching bag.

But Tiger copes very well.

How does he do it?

Well, he just looks the other way.

Or, turns the other cheek?

I must say, whatever method he is using has enabled him to survive and cope in the last 7 years, so there's something there that we can learn from, isn't there? And think about it, Tiger has never got into any major fight with anyone.

What IS your secret, Tiger?

Oh I see....shh then. Thank you for sharing.

Shh, everyone. Don't tell the two bosses, please.

You can ask me too, I have no quarrels with anyone and no one dares to bully me.

So Pole, what's your secret?

I'm all muscle and I'm super fast. When provoked, I fight back. Otherwise, I don't bully anyone.
And keep yourself slim and fit - that helps too.

Indy's new mat

While Pole has this lovely pillow in the penthouse...

And Cleo takes the condo sometimes...

Indy has nothing....

Until....my husband came back with this new mat, bought specially for the cats.

 Indy claimed it quickly!

And on that first day, slept for no less than 6 hours on it.

In the entire 6 hours, he fidgeted about the mat, but he did not leave it at all.

Indy loved the mat to bits!

On the next day, Indy shared it with Bunny.

Was it really sharing or not, oh well, let's give Bunny the benefit of the doubt, shall we?

Er...Bunny also slept for 6 hours on Day 2.

Today is Day 4, and guess who got to sleep on the mat?

 Yay!! Tiger got it!

Indy says: "Well, yes, I'm feeling charitable today."

2 hours and still counting.

 3 hours and still counting.

Looks like it's going to be nothing less than 6 hours for a total restful sleep on the mat.

I tell you, the RM13 is well worth it!

How is Willy-O doing?

Well, it all depends on Vincent's moods.

If Vincent feels benevolent and charitable, he actually allows Willy-O to stay around.

See? Not too close for comfort.

Timmy is, as always, ever so happy, and he doesn't mind anyone sharing anything as long as he gets to eat, and to polish up all unfinished food.

Here's something I totally agree with: Chen writes: Timmy the Tummy’s philosophy of life in regards to more cat friends is probably very simple. More cats = more bowls of food, hence more food bowls to raid and clean up, hence more food to fill his oversized tummy.

Mother and son are also quite hospitable.

The garbage rest area actually belongs to Timmy, but he allows anyone to use it.

 Here is a close-up of Willy-O.

 He is quite small-sized, actually.

Here is another shot taken at breakfast where Vincent Valentino Starr actually sits and watches Willy-O eat.

Wonderful!

Rosie can be a bit of a bully sometimes, so I have to monitor and keep her at bay.

Happiness is...having my very own patio chair!!

On most days, Willy-O can safely eat under the car.

Vincent is quite accommodating...but it still depends on his moods.

 Happy days are here again..
The skies above are clear again...!

But, inside Bunny's Place, there is no song being sung...

 What's going on outside??

 We demand to know!!!

Oh no, the calvary is coming, the calvary is coming!!
