mini-P1060296 These appliequed sunflower motifs were sewed by my mum many years ago. We found them in her treasure trove recently and decided we could make good use of them and turn them into a blanket. So we washed the pieces and sewed them together. mum

The applique is handsewn, as are all the bag designs.

And of course, Ginger helped me design the frame around the sunflowers.

In the spirit of patchwork where nothing goes to waste, we used whatever cloth we had to match.

This is a two-layered cotton patchwork without padding in between.

It measures 50 inches by 72 inches.

The backing is done by my mum in beige cloth contributed by Agnes and Gerley.

For donation of RM150, you get to help a dog's neutering or a cat's plus two vaccinations. Neutering and vaccinations go a long way for a street animal. It's their most basic medical need. We cannot adopt every street animal, but we can get them neutered and vaccinated and hope they lead a safe and reasonably happy life with the help of their caregivers.

Anyone's birthday coming up? This would make a lovely gift for a loved one. The blanket tells a story - a very meaningful one too!

100% of the winning bid is channeled to our Fund for the animals. All materials and workmanship are contributed by my mum, Agnes, Gerley and me.

Happy bidding and thank you very much for your kind support!
