The Sunny Cats!

It was on 25th May 2011, that the Sunny Kittens came into our lives: http://myanimalcare.org/2011/05/25/rex-fox-and-honeybear-the-3-kittens/

I called them the Sunny Kittens because they were just so full of life and joy. If you were already a blog reader way back in 2011, you would remember them. There would be several blogposts about them every single day because they were so active, playful and were a bundle of energy.

Adopted by Rozita and family: http://myanimalcare.org/2011/06/18/the-sunnies-new-home-with-rozita-and-family/

And look at them today!

Presenting Mr (I-am-chilling-out) QUACK!

Remember Mr Quack? He was the terrorist who just appeared out of the blue in my neighbourhood. He attacked Ginger (bite wound until almost gangrenous) and terrorised everyone except Daffodil. I managed to trap him, got him neutered and Maslinda offered to adopt him.

Well, Joy Saga visited Maslinda recently and managed to snap these photos of this oh-so-handsome cat chilling in the compound of the house.

Hey, Mr Quack!

Lookin' good, ol' boy!

Over at Maslinda's, Mr Quack is a loner amongst the adults, but has a loyal following of little kittens!

And tadahh!! Who is this raving beauty?

Three guesses!!

IMG-20130906-WA0003

YES, it's Raven!! Looking prosperous too!

DT sent these photos today and I am so, so grateful that Raven has a loving home at DT's!

Raven was a tiny little kitten who made her way into Bunny's Place through the Stargate late one night in October 2012. She was covered with mange. I took her in, and with Bosco as her mentor, perky little Raven grew up, recovered from her mange and finally got adopted into DT's loving home. The rest, as they say, is history.

You can do a wordsearch of "Raven" in this blog and read all about her adventures.

The Sunny Cats!! (from Rozita Halim)

If you've been following this blog, you might remember the Sunny Kittens!

They were rescued by a student when they were left in a box by the roadside in KL. The kittens were brought to me and we (meaning Bobby, all the cats and me) fostered them until they were ready for adoption.

I called them the Sunny Kittens because they were such a joyful lot and every day, there would be a new adventure for them. They were especially close to Uncle Bobby.

Here's strolling down memory lane to 2011:

When they were ready for adoption, Rozita Halim offered to give them a home.

That Sunkist box is the playhouse we made for them so we brought it along.

Rozita sent updates from time to time.

(You can wordsearch "Sunny Kittens" on this blog for their stories. They were quite a hit!)

And look at them now!!

This is Honeybear! Rozita calls him "Mr Bear"!

He was all white when he was a baby! The youngest and weakest at that time. The first day I got them, Honeybear was throwing seizures, but within a day, the seizures stopped.

rex

Rex is the oldest (the big brother) and he was the closest to me.

Foxy, according to Rozita, is camera-shy and it is almost impossible to capture her on film!

Bless Rozita and her lovely family for giving the Sunny Kittens (now, Cats) such a wonderful life!!

Mr Quack's kitten-friend!

Remember this: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/12/29/the-quack-and-his-friend/? (Click and see first!)

The kitten has now grown up, and the adopter caught the kitten grooming Mr Quack last night!!

This is the post-grooming picture.

 The Quack and his friend!

Flashback: Mr Quack is the terrorist who created havoc in my community last year when he appeared from nowhere  and went on a brief reign of terror ("I come, I see, I terrorise."). I caught him, got him neutered and rehomed. The change of environment for him really did him a lot of good. It did US a lot of good too!

And how is Mr Quack these days??

Do you remember Mr Quack?

He is the terrorist on my street who bit Ginger until the poor boy's paw turned almost gangrenous and he created havoc on my street until I finally caught him (thanks to the assistance of Daffodil and Rosie):

http://myanimalcare.org/2012/12/19/ladies-and-gentleman-may-i-present-mr-q-plan-d/

After he was neutered, I couldn't return him to my street as we all know neutering may not change a cat's territorial behaviour (tell me about it, take a look at Cow, Bunny and Indy). Moreover, Ginger had spent two weeks in the cage due to that paw injury and I could not risk getting him attacked by Mr Quack again.

Mr Quack was enemies with everyone except Daffodil. The problem with him was that he attacked and bit.

So I put him up for adoption and a kind friend offered to take him.

What Mr Quack needed was a change of environment.

At my friend's house, he was wary of the new surroundings and did not dare bully any of her cats.

But he has remained a loner until today. However, he does have friends and these would be the tiny little kittens who would sit all around him. He quite enjoyed their company.

He still does not allow my friend to touch him, but he likes to sleep under her bed.

For stories on rehabilitating Mr Quack, please do a wordsearch on "Mr Quack" and you will see all the posts about him, before and after!

Meanwhile, my friend sent this photo:

Isn't this cute?

Mr Quack's updates (he has kitten friends!)

Updates from the adopter!!
He is now not as afraid as last time. but he'll run if he hears my voice calling him and I am still unable to touch him yet :(. However, his best friends are those tiny little kittens. They all sit around him and he seems to like that very much. :))

Photo updates of Raven

Do you remember Raven? She's the little black kitten who came on her own to Bunny's Place late one night and refused to leave. She was full of mange then, and barely 2 months old.

Raven stayed with me (with Bosco as her "mentor"), her mange healed completely (thanks to a spot-on and daily application of Johnson's Baby Oil) and she was subsequently adopted by a dear friend, DT.

Today I alerted DT about the man who is looking for black cats for suspicious reasons.

And subsequently DT sent these photos of Raven. She's grown up to be a beautiful lady now (already spayed too).

Take a look:

Raven with her best friend, Bagheera, lazing on DT's carpet.

Raven is the one without the collar. Doesn't she look simply majestic?

DT's cats are all indoors and very safe.

From left: Diva, Raven and Bagheera.

Diva was also adopted through us. She is the brave little kitten rescued from the divider of the road.

Being able to find a good and loving adopter for our rescues is heaven-sent! Thank you so much, DT!

Mr Quack is doing well!

It's been sometime since we last heard from Mr Quack's adopter. Well, here is his latest photo. According to the adopter, Mr Quack is doing well and has not been aggressive to cats. However, he is still not friendly to humans.
He is socializing more with the cats and now hangs out at the living area instead of just under my bed. However, he still has problem with humans.

Hi Mr Quack!!

More Quack updates

Here's the latest on the Quack:
He is actually much more friendly with other cats. H started using the communal litter trays now. However, still not much connection with me, but at least he does not run off whenever i walk near him, so it's a good sign :)

Hello, Mr Quack!!

Quack updates!

It's been sometime since Quack got adopted, but it looks like he is doing fine. He's not bullying any of the cats in his new home, which is good.

Here are some updates from the adopter:

Quack is getting better on his own. He has gained more confidence and has started to roam freely in the house. He will go out to the kitchen whenever he feels hungry and even eats at the common kibbles place.

BUT connection with me and other human? Still a NO. I don't think he is fierce. I think he's afraid of human presence. His relationship with other cats is ok, no hissing. and still his favorite place is under my bed!

And who might this pretty lady be?

Three guesses....quick!!

Yes, it's Raven!!

She's been spayed and she's very happy with lots of friends in DT's house!

Hi, Raven!!!

The Quack...and his friend...!!

A picture paints a thousand words!

From the adopter:
He's behaving at my house. No hissing, no catfight, He just eats and sleeps :)  He roams all over the house with my other cats around, and he doesn't fight with any of them. They go near him and he's okay. At night, he goes back to his "room" to sleep! He has identified that room to be HIS room! Smart fellow...

The best news ever (Quack news)!!

The best news ever for me yesterday evening was not that the world did not end, but that one of our blog readers wrote in offering to rehabilitate, rehome and if not possible, adopt (!!) Mr Quack! We communicated and she has a "plan" to rehabilitate the Quack. I'm impressed!

If that's not the BEST news EVER, tell me, what is?

So, later today, the infamous Mr Quack will be going to his new home.

Meanwhile, here are some photos sent by my friend who is sheltering Mr Quack for now.

Updates: The Quack is standing up already, but is still an ANGRY Quack.

WHY are you looking at me?

 NO PHOTOS!!

My friend said Mr Quack got angry when he spotted her with the camera.

 Hmmmmph!!

And his eyes were following her camera. He's extremely cautious.

Why am I kept here? I demand to see my lawyer!! I'm being held against my will.

 I said NO PHOTOS!!

Mr Quack, you're going to your new home today...

It's going to be a happy, happy home...
