Stray Cat Strut (Star Two, page 6)

AnimalCare records its thanks to Cheryl Poo for writing this article, En Rohaizat Md Darus for the photoshoot and Andy Koh, for converting the files into jpeg so that it can be posted here.  And a big thank you to the editors of Star Two for giving us this honour and publicising our work.

We hope more Malaysians will be moved to do CNRM or any project that will benefit the animals.

Most of all, thank you to all of you, for your continual support, encouragement and friendship.  That's priceless!

Thank you for posting this up! I was just thinking I should ask my cousin to keep a copy for me since I don't have The Star at home, but don't need it now. :)

Totally inspired. :)

Yes, congratulations to you, KY, and kudos to The Star. I have occasional grumbles about that paper, but they've been giving animal welfare issues quite a lot of space, especially lately. There's a profile of a volunteer in Penang's dog shelter in today's paper, and they've been covering the petition and drive for stronger animal rights legislation frequently. All good news! Every bit helps get the word out that many Malaysians care deeply.

This article has emphasized your painful effort of caring for these strays & we hope this would be an eye opener to public.

It would be better if this article is published in all papers, Malay, English, Tamil & Chinese as well, so that each and every reader will understand the pains & difficulties animal lovers go thru.

Anyway, I knew Dr Chan Kah Yein is going to make this journey a successful one and indeed it is turning into reality gradually.

SYABAS! MYANIMALCARE.

Hi Devi,

Thank you very much, but it isn't a "painful" journey. It's actually been a wonderful one, being able to extend some help to rescuers, feeders and their animals.

Perhaps you said "painful" because I looked tired? Yes, I did, on the day of the photoshoot because that was the day the Sunny Kittens came and I had been up all night trying to get them fostered! I was already about to drop that afternoon due to insufficient sleep the night before!

I assure you, I'm fine and not in pain! But thank you very much for your concern and continual moral support of what we do.

rgds,
kahyein

Oh, I said "painful" coz you have to face the lot who hates animals and trying their best to vanish them from this world. This path is simply too rough to ride thru.

Ahh...yes, that is true, but people perceive the world differently, and that is to be expected.

We shall plod on....and do our best.

I pray to god that he showers his blessings to you and all the kind angels fighting thru to protect the defendless strays.
