mini HIP

Tiger must have licked this one on the hip as it looked inflamed this morning.

I decided not to apply anything on it as it would make him lick even more.

Mini HIP AThe same sore on the hip, photo taken about 2 hours later.

Too bad it's easy for Tiger to just turn his head and lick this area to his heart's content. Maybe it's itchy because it is healing?

Bunny bullies Tiger and Tiger walks away...

Just now, I heard Bunny's infamous war-cries at the Clubhouse. I went out to look and found Bunny war-crying right into Tiger's face.

Bunny wouldn't stop so I had to intervene or else, it would escalate to something ugly.

But Tiger was just looking at Bunny without retaliating or even flinching. He was probably saying, "You again? What is your problem this time?"

mini-P3280613

Tiger didn't even move. He just looked at the war-crying Bunny.

mini-P3280612

I had to pacify the war-crying one.

Fight fire with fire and you will lose, right?

Bunny was subdued instantly.

mini-P3280616

And the bully walks away, leaving Tiger safe and unharmed.

mini-P3280614

It's not my shift to be on duty. Don't disturb my siesta, please.

mini-P3280615

I'm not involved either.

mini-P3280617

Neither are we.

mini-P3280618

Pacify me with food!!

And while Bunny was eating, Tiger waited at the grille. He wants to go out where it would be safer. Why stay around and invite trouble?

mini-P3280619

Tiger is wise.

And could you please let my friend out too, please?

mini-P3280625

Yes, Tabs wants to come out too.

mini-P3280626

Yay!

Happiness is having a friend and comrade...

Tiger Day 21

Today marks 3 weeks since Tiger started on his sporo treatment.

Gang of Four - drying up!

Gang of Eight - drying up!

I've decided to use the Lamisil very sparingly (since it's known to be toxic), so it's down to once in 2 days now. It's also better not to apply anything as Tiger tends to lick it and this only makes the sores inflamed and I might mistake the inflammation as the sores getting worse! So I didn't apply anything today, and as you can see from above, the sores look dry.

The oral medication and supplements are continuing, of course: Sporonox, RetroMAD1, Vetri DMG, Omega-7 and Biopure. I'm stopping the Transfer Factor as Tiger doesn't like it anymore.

KGB-Zurik is terrified of thunder

This afternoon, there was thunder here followed by very heavy rain.

It is always a problem when there is thunder during feeding time.

For example, inside, it's Indy and Bunny who are not afraid of thunder and they will be demanding for food. The rest, especially Tabs and Cleo would be far too afraid of eat and both will be hiding; Tabs behind the door and Cleo under the bench. So, only Indy and Bunny will be eating and the rest would have to be fed later by which time Indy and Bunny would demand for food again, so it's a double meal for these two brave ones.

Then, at the patio, the cats who could not get back to the patio in time would be hiding somewhere else and the rest will demand for food. So, as with the inside cats, when the rest comes back, everyone will want food again. Double meals again.

This afternoon, Rosie was not around. She must have been too terrified of the thunder and could have hidden somewhere in her rain shelter. The rest were all at the patio.

Everyone else ate except....Mr Zurik.

He was sitting very still near the vegetable patch, too scared to move. This was before the rain. It was just thunder, but he was literally "scared stiff". I brought his food to him, but he was too scared to eat.

I then carried him to his table, and put the food in front of his nose, and slowly, managed to coax him to eat a few kibbles. But he froze and decided it would be safer to just keep very, very still and do nothing.

After the rain, I went looking for Rosie but couldn't find her anywhere.

After a few minutes, Rosie appeared at the patio and was sitting nonchalantly on one of the patio chairs. She jumped down with that look (of asking for food) when she saw me.

mini-20140326_173217

Rosie's back and everyone else gets a second meal!

mini-20140326_173431

This is Mr Zurik's way of asking for his kibbles. He prefers kibbles to wetfood.

mini-20140326_173438

Everyone wants Rosie's food. They have conveniently forgotten that they had just eaten their wetfood meal an hour ago.

I suppose "an hour" is a long time for a cat.

mini-20140326_173452

Timmy isn't as greedy nowadays. Sometimes, he gets to eat snacks without having to go into the cage.

mini-20140326_173457 mini-20140326_173502

Mr Zurik got his kibbles, of course.

mini-20140326_173513

And all is well at the patio.

Tiger Day 20 - still not out of the woods yet

It's been a very busy day today and it was only now that I managed to get a closer look at Tiger's sores.

Looks like we're not out of the woods yet.

mini-P3260640 mini-P3260641

Tiger had a happy day, without me "disturbing" him too much.

He took all his medicines and I only applied the Wound Protector once in the morning. No Lamisil. Occasionally throughout the day, I would steal a peek at his sores and they looked "good" to me.

But just now, as I was giving him his third dose of RetroMAD1 and his Transfer Factor for the day, I noticed the sores on the left front paw was inflamed again.

mini-left front

Well, it isn't THAT bad, but still...it looked a bit inflamed.

mini-left front A

The close-up looks scary, I know.

So, not taking any chances, I applied the Lamisil cream again. This Gang of Four is the most stubborn set of sores.

mini-left hind

The Gang of Eight on the left hind leg looks okay and not inflamed.

mini-right hind

The one on the right hind leg is okay too.

It's just that stubborn Gang of Four that is still not out of the woods.

mini-P3260640 (2)

Tiger clearly was NOT happy.

But never mind, Tiger, it's better to endure a bit of discomfort and loss of dignity, in order to get well.

Just one hour on the e-collar, Tiger.
